Though known by many names: jigida, shanga, bin bin, baya, etc, we celebrate waist beads of all kindsunder a single name! Historically used to express femininity, signal life changes, and/or track weight gain/loss, waist beads are both a culturally significant symbol and aesthetically appealing accesssory. At Chelure, we combine the traditional concept of waist beads with contemporary designs to create custom pieces as unique as their wearers.
