The Achromatique centers colorless waist bead sets, with blends made up of black, white, clear, and silver beads. Additionally, these sets have many clear faceted crystals, dark or clear colors, stones, and silver stainless steel spacer beads. No two sets are ever exactly the same—bead blends naturally fall in different orders as they are strung, making every piece truly one of a kind, just like the person wearing it. Though also known as shanga, jigida, baya, bin bin, or (incorrectly) as waist chains, here, we refer to them as waist beads! While we embrace a more contemporary style, Chelure waist beads follow the Nigerian custom of waist jewelry, celebrating femininity, life stages, and self-expression. Historically worn to honor womanhood and individuality, waist beads are a symbol of confidence, beauty, and intention. We continue this tradition in blending culture with modern inspirations, crafting meaningful and expressive pieces for a wide-range of different communities, across different cultures and styles.

Our waist beads are designed to last for exended periods of time and to be worn as often or inoften as preferred. Waist beads can be worn to sleep, in the shower, under or over clothes, and with you on your day-to-day. Though they can be worn continuously without break, the cultural or "spiritual" practice encourages changing sets through life's stages. It's up to the wearer to decide when to cut and part ways with a set, to prepare for a new single or stack and adorn a new phase of life.

For sizing, please add your waist size (in inches) or specify if using another measurement and add the measurement used. Alternatively, you can enter your best fitted jeans size (or top) and the brand. "Best fitted", in this context, refers to a slim fitting, but not loose or tight fit. Please avoid using baggy clothing for reference, as it may result in a waist set that is slightly too big. Additionally, avoid adjusting your waist size to get a specific fit (loose or tight); if you are interested in something rather low-hanging, feel free to note in your description! All waist sets include a 3 inch extension chain, for an additional extension, add "+[1-5]" to your description. The minimum extension for an additional chain is 1 inch and the maximum is 5. (Extension chains do not have an additional cost).

While waist beads can be worn in any and every setting, we encourage that you remove your set if it becomes physically uncomfortable (incorrect sizing, too many crystals for comfort, or because you are new to wearing waist jewelry long-term) or if you plan on being exposed to unusual and intense conditions. Waist sets do include metals that may not be suitable for for certain medical or industrial work settings (stainless steel, alloys, brass, etc).
